A moment I’d love to relive?
August 5th, 2008
Hmmm, this is a hard one. It’s easy to think of moments that I’d want to relive where I’d want to change things I’ve done. Re-do it different, create a different outcome. Fix mistakes. But a moment that I’d want to relive in exactly the same way? I’d probably have to say the day Justin first got here. Everything went pretty much perfectly.
It started out with me being really nervous since I had been talking to him for almost a year and still hadn’t met him. Plus I was nervous about meeting Chris’s fiance and seeing how much Chris had changed in the year since he moved away. Overall I just didn’t want to dissapoint anyone, so my nerves were racing. My cousin Jesse must have knew that because about 2 hours before they got here he came in my room and told me to look in the refridgerater and that he had got me something. It was a fridge full of beer of course! I must have drank a good 7 of them between then and the time Justin called saying he was at Chris’s grandmas ( which is five minutes away ) and that he was leaving now to come to my house.
Jesse and I ran outside and were standing there waiting for them. I must have been white as a ghost because Jesse laughed and told me to calm down. Then we glanced down to the end of my long dirt circle driveway to see my DAD burning stuff in a barrel. That was the line, I freaked out yelling at Jesse “WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING?” “WHY DOES HE HAVE A BUM FIRE OR SOMETHING RIGHT AT THE END OF OUR DRIVEWAY WHEN JUSTIN, CHRIS, AND MJ ARE GOING TO BE HERE ANY SECOND”? Jesse was laughing hysterically joking that my Dad was conjuring up some spell on Chris, and that’s when they arrived.
My heart was in my throat, I think my knees were even shaking. I had no idea what to do with my hands so I was kind of twiddling my fingers looking down at them trying not to stare into Chris’s van. THEN I heard Jesse say something like “HOLY SHIT, IS THAT CHRIS?”. When I looked up and saw the van parked in front of me all nervousness just LEFT and I started to laugh. Chris looked like an entirely different person. A year had changed him so much I wasn’t even sure his son would recognize him. Then Chris and MJ jumped out of their van all smiles and MJ ran up and hugged me. She already seemed really nice and easy going. Behind her came Justin and MJ’s daughter Sarah.
When I saw Justin I couldn’t have been happier. I ran over and hugged him and I think within seconds we were holding hands as Him, Chris, and MJ talked about their drive across the country. ( Well Chris and MJ came from Cali, they picked up justin in Ohio ).
My Dad came over and my Mom came outside and we were all just kind of standing around laughing and talking. No one could believe how much Chris had changed, and I think the attention on him took a lot of the nervousness out of Justin too. There wasn’t so much emphasis on everyone staring at him asking him a million questions.
Chris and MJ stayed a while. The kids were jumping on the trampoline and we somehow ended up standing by my Dads fire, LOL. When they left they took Ryan with them to Chris’s grandmothers since Chris hadn’t seen him in a year.
That was nice because it left me and Justin with time alone. After drinking 7 beers and finally being with him in person after a year you can guess how quickly things progressed once we were in alone in my room. But that’s a different story and definately not G rated. I wouldn’t want to change any part of that either.
So that’s the first moment I first saw the love of my life and met my sons Dad’s fiance all at once. And surprisingly it went wonderful.

OMG AT YOU TWO HOLDING HANDS RIGHT AWAY. ;_;;;;;;;
Soul mates.
That sounds like a really sweet story. Man, I would probably want to drink too if I was in your situation. But that sounds like the perfect meeting story.
And LOL@you freaking out when your dad was lighting a fire. That’s so like you. Lol@Jesse saying your dad was casting a spell on Chris.
MJ rolls up and sees your dad in a wizard hat and robe by a fire and just throws Justin out of the car, shuts the door, uturns out and zooms away.
