Nancy Pelosi
September 29th, 2008
Nancy Pelosi’s speech was amazing today. I never expected a politician to say it all so well. These bankers privatized their money and got rich. Now when they’re losing it because they drove their companies into the ground they want to sail down on a golden parachute on the backs of the US tax payers.
McCain definitely looked like a moron. He was so confident the bill was going to pass he actually tried to take credit for it. It didn’t pass though!!! The House finally stood up and DID something. I’m so happy they voted no.
I’m waiting to see what he tries to say now. He’s about to make a speech.

I was thrilled it did not pass the house. The American people have protested enough, and since many of congress are up for election, they would not dare to go against the people they are supposed to represent.

This whole issue has been really interesting to watch from a distance, but I wonder what the impact is going to be now that the bill was voted down (of course, the other side of the coin would have been I wonder what the impact would be if the bill was successfully passed).

Finally, a step in the right direction. That’s my opinion anyway. As for McCain, well I really have nothing to say except “EL OH EL”.

I missed her speech but it must have been a real good one. However, in reality something is going to have to be done or the middle class and working poor(myself) will be hurt even more.
I agree with O’bama’s outlook. Why don’t we try working from the bottom up instead of hanging onto this old trickle down theory that has definitely created a disaster in our economy and around the world.
Maybe if some of those big CEO’S gave back all of the millions that they have been able to steal in the last 8 years then they could bail them selves out!
Ha! I don’t see that happening though. But what I do see coming down the pipeline is a huge investigation and a lot of rich guys sitting it out in prison for a while!! I am waiting for the day!!
Great post!!:-)))

Yeah, the bill was BS. They were talking about how it wouldn’t affect the tax payers and all this stuff, and it’s like, HELLO, it’s $70000000000000000000! Of course we’re going to feel the effects!

I agree! They never would have had a chance of getting re-elected if they passed it!

Well this bill definitely HAD to be voted down. It would have made a lot of us very angry. The working class would have been left paying off 7 billion of the rich peoples debt.

LOL YEAH. McCain needs to go away.

It was good! Something does have to be done, but that bill would not have helped the working class at ALL. We technically would have been paying our tax dollars to bail out the upper class. Hopefully this new bill is different. They’re saying it’s going to put in some protection for the working class.
I agree with Obamas outlook on the trickle down approach they’ve been using too. But that didn’t have anything to do with the bailout specifically. I think Obama actually wanted this bill for some reason originally. Though after everyone voted no he seemed to agree.
Definitely! It should come out of their pockets. It happened because they were greedy in the first place.
HOPEFULLY. I;d love to see handcuffs slapped on them all.

He seemed to but then after he seemed to change his mind in his speech. I’m still not quite sure to be honest.
