Bedknobs And Broomsticks

February 14th, 2009

Bedknobs and Broomsticks was one of my favorite movies when I was a little girl. Tonight I put it on for my son. At first he wanted nothing to do with it. After a few minutes he started to get into it though. Honestly I didn’t realize how old that movie was until I put it on. It’s probably been over 15 years since I had watched it. It’s still amazing. A really unique movie.

I liked a lot of old movies when I was a kid. Even the Sound Of Music. Probably because my grandmother used to bring me to plays all the time. She’s a school teacher so she’d always bring me to her school’s plays. I actually had fun.

I can understand why kids now wouldn’t like an old movie like that. Technology has come so far that they probably look like total crap to them. I just think that if they don’t even try to watch them they’re missing out on some interesting movies.

Yeah, that is a great movie and it’s been a while since I watched empty suits of armor defend the Empire as well.

I watched The Bell, The Book, and The Candle the other day and had similar thoughts of wow, this movie is old, but still great.

It’s all about when people grew up. Like, if we grow up with crappy movie effects, then we will still love them. But yeah, looking back on them for the first time can be hilarious.

I love to watch old movies, too. Its the vintage feel I am up to mostly, when I feel like being so melodramatic…
I think I have to watch Sound of Music. ;)

I’ve never seen this movie before, but the characters look familiar :) I like old movies. A month ago, me and my Mom watched Friday the 13th, OMG the ORIGINAL one. It was so halarious. These days movies are filled with so much horror, gore, and graphics that you’re scared out of your wits, but this “horror” movie was really nice to see. Something easy on the eyes for a change.

Children are like that! But you know what? As much as I love some classics, I have a hard time re-watching them, because I remember them much more glorious than what they really are, especially where special effects are concerned :(

true that the younger gen of moviegoers consider visual effects to be more important than screenplay.

I loved the sound of music when I was growing up. I love the old movie The Lost Boys too. That was such a cheesy 80’s movie. The Labyrinth is by far my favorite.
