Programming

Computer programming is something I have always been interested in learning. There’s so many opportunities it can open up. From being able to get programmer jobs  to simply being able to make your own simple programs to make your online life easier. I’ve spent a good number of years dabbling in web design and I feel as if it was all wasted. The time could have definitely been put towards some more useful knowledge.

I guess I just always doubted myself too much to try anything I viewed as hard to learn. That’s something I’ve been trying to change lately. I really need to stop underestimating myself. All it does is hold me back.

UPDATE

My apologies for lack of commenting and Entrecard dropping the past few days. My son has been home sick. He doesn’t let me do much of anything when he’s home. He aggravates me all day and night.

I have been meaning to re design my photography gallery here. This old plug-in just doesn’t work for me anymore. Actually I don’t even think it allows me to upload new photos.

Tomorrow when my son goes back to school I’ll finally have time to update my galleries and Wordpress as well.

It’s about time for a new layout also. This one is kind of bright.

Anyone need a barcode scanner?

Religulous

I wanted to see this movie forever since Bill Maher is my old man crush and he is hilariously funny. The other night I finally got the chance to watch it with my fiancé and I absolutely loved it! It pretty much summed up exactly how I feel about religion.

The interview with the Governor was one of the things that disturbed me most. It showed just how ignorant so much of our country is BECAUSE of religion. Taking the bible literally is not a small matter. When people in power hold these beliefs they affect us all. Our entire country is effected by completely illogical beliefs when the people responsible for making our laws carry this blind faith in a man written and edited book that is thousands of years old. It’s one of the main reasons America is so far behind in Education. Politicians can’t seem to grasp the concept that Science and religion are not the same thing. The Priest interviewed who was an astronomer for the Vatican explained it well.

That’s an other thing. This Documentary actually gave me somewhat of a new found respect for the catholic Church. As corrupt as it may be they really are so much more progressive then the other branches of Christianity. With Science and Education especially. The Priests are EDUCATED men. Psychiatrists, Doctors, Astronomers. There’s priests that have degrees in a ton of things. They’re also intelligent enough to study and accept science. Like the Vatican Astronomer said. Religion and Science have no business being lumped together. They are in no way the same thing. Now obviously the catholic church can send their clergy to school because they are rich. Not all denominations and churches have that kind of money. But the point is most of these Churches are so closed minded that they wouldn’t believe it ANYWAY. They simply aren’t open to accepting Science.

The Mormon part was funny too. They threw Bill Maher off the temple lawn so fast!

What surprised me was that he was actually allowed inside the Muslim Mosque in Israel. The one built over the ruins of the Jewish Temple. I actually never knew about that until this movie. It’s like the most sacred place in the world to 3 religions and there’s a Mosque smacked on top of it.

Anyway the end of the movie is what I wanted to get to. It talks about how the World is run by religious people. These people make decisions—IMPORTANT decisions for their countries. And how many of them believe we are in the end times? Bush did. No wonder they are not making decisions to make our FUTURE better. They don’t even believe we HAVE one! And the scariest part of all is these countries are stock piling weapons. Potentially Weapons of mass destruction! It isn’t fair to the rest of us to have a world run by religious crazies. It is dangerous for everyone.

Disgusting!

The girl, aged nine, who lives in the north-eastern state of Pernambuco, became pregnant with twins.
It is alleged that she had been sexually assaulted over a number of years by her stepfather.
The excommunication applies to the child’s mother and the doctors involved in the procedure.
The pregnancy was terminated on Wednesday.
Abortion is only permitted in Brazil in cases of rape and where the mother’s life is at risk and doctors say the girl’s case met both these conditions.
Police believe that the girl at the center of the case had been sexually abused by her step-father since she was six years old.
The fact that she was pregnant with twins was only discovered after she was taken to hospital in Pernambuco complaining of stomach pains.
Her stepfather was arrested last week, allegedly as he tried to escape to another region of the country.
He is also suspected of abusing the girl’s physically handicapped older sister who is now 14.
The Catholic Church tried to intervene to prevent the abortion going ahead but the procedure was carried out on Wednesday.
Now a Church spokesman says all those involved, including the child’s mother and the doctors, are to be excommunicated.
The Archbishop of Olinda and Recife, Jose Cardoso Sobrinho, told Brazil’s TV Globo that the law of God was above any human law.
He said the excommunication would not apply to the child because of her age, but would affect all those who ensured the abortion was carried out.
However, doctors at the hospital said they had to take account of the welfare of the girl, and that she was so small that her uterus did not have the ability to contain one child let alone two.
While the action of the Church in opposing an abortion for a young rape victim is not unprecedented, it has attracted criticism from women’s rights groups in Brazil.

I am completely disgusted by this story.. This girl was 9 years old. The pregnancy could have very well killed her if carried to full term. The church would rather see her die then end the pregnancy? This totally baffles me. I know it’s a churches right to excommunicate whoever they wish but you;d think they would have some compassion. The Doctors were simply doing their job in saving the child’s life. And her stepdad was arrested. It isn’t like it was done as some conspiracy to cover up the molestation.

Need some new stuff..

This post is kinda of embarrassing but I guess it’s good to make one of these sometimes. Me and my fiance have a great sex life, we always like to keep it spiced up with new things. One thing I haven’t done yet is try out some sexy lingerie panties for him. Next time I’m out shopping, or maybe doing some online shopping I’ll try to pick up tasteful but hot.

Maybe I’ll go with my friend Sarah to help me pick out a few things he would like.

Going back to school, maybe..

Well I know I’ve been talking about starting up my own business, but it’s always good to have a backup plan. Starting your own business is very tough and could take a while. I missed out on school, and being a mom I haven’t had time to go back.

One thing I always thought about becoming was a nurse. I actually have an allergy to latex so I thought maybe It wasn’t a good idea but I have heard a lot of nurses and doctors develop a latex allergy from wearing gloves all day. I heard there is alternatives to latex in the hospital because of this. Or maybe a nurse at a doctors office, or an assistant at a medical office, they make good money. It could help fuel a business!

So aside from the business I have been thinking of maybe going to medical assistant training school. I should have time to do it soon I hope!
